Vehicles in German Town Found Covered with Swastikas in Blood, Law Enforcement Report

Police stated they were notified by a individual who discovered a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored liquid

Approximately fifty vehicles have been smeared with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.

Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a release.

Officers state they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a man noticed that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish-hued liquid.

The fluid had been placed in the pattern of a swastika, they added.

Law enforcement then discovered many other marked vehicles and building exteriors in the surrounding area.

Nazi symbols are illegal in Germany under laws prohibiting the public display of Nazi-era symbols.

Law enforcement state early analysis indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.

"At present there remains no lead as to its origin; authorities are not yet aware of any physical harm in relation with the incident," they added.

City officials said they were attempting "to solve the case" and have requested to the residents for tips.

An important representative said the incident rendered him without words and had to be solved promptly.

"This event strikes at the core of Hanau and revives the wounds of the far-right terrorist attack five years ago," he posted on online, recalling the killing of nine victims by a gunman targeting individuals of immigrant origin in February 2020.
