Anthony Joshua will face the American YouTuber in an eight-bout contest which will be streamed in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote next month's heavyweight fight.
Ex two-time unified boxing king Joshua faces YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami's Kaseya Center on December 19th.
Fighter's Mentality
"I will damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to cause him pain. That's my goal."
Civil Exchange
In spite of those words, a composed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically famous for his theatrics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.
Paul instead targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.
Targeting Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, took aim at UK rival Fury - and declined a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] is superior to Tyson Fury - he's present here," Joshua stated.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Fighter
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua refused to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he stated.
Paul's History
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mainly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since turning professional.
He was defeated by British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the relative newcomer remains one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making huge paydays.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul stated.
Size Disparity
As Joshua and Paul met for the usual face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how amazing it is that the bout is really happening.
